Hi there,

First, I'd like to compliment you on your script--it's professional looking and seems to have some nice features.

That leads me into my questions:

1) I noticed that in the commerce sections of the script (real estate, classifieds, etc) the listing party has their email noted in the event that someone wants to contact them about their listing.

In this day and age of SPAM, phishing, I don't think most folks want their email address available to anyone who happens upon the site. Would you be able to change this to having a contact form instead? So where it says "Email", change it to a link that says "Contact" that when clicked, opens a little window that has a form they can fill out?

2) Does the script offer the abilty to create custom fields in registration forms for areas like the business directory, garage sale listings, etc? I ask, because this would allow for a lot of flexibility with the type of info you can include with a listing.

Thanks so much for your time,

briguy

Hi,

1. It is voluntary for people listing if they want to enter their email or phone number or web address. Right now there is no option for a contact form, but it's an idea that we will consider for future updates.

2. There are no option to make custom fields no. We tried to make the listings contain as much relevant information as possible, but of course flexibility is always nice. Unfortunately these things come an increase in complexity if not smartly/carefully implemented.

Hope this answers your questions.

Thanks,
Martin.

The contact us form is not working for me using IE 7.

Same error message...

Your message could not be sent. Please contact the store admin.

Im currently at work. They have firewalls, etc. But I dont have this problem using any other contact us type forms and I use them all the time. This is very unusual.

Yes, this sounds curious. Please submit a support ticket including:

- url
- admin password
- FTP login info

and we'll take a look at it.

Thanks..

What sense does to have a listing of a business without a way to contact if I have to hide the email?

Well .. yes for SPAM its great .. i would of course not add my business on such Portal. Also .. i may add or not my phone number, if i dont want to have a contact phone number i need to have the email visible to anyone

You can always use an email specifically for your business. Come v2.0 we would be filtering most emails and comments through akismet- so that should help with our spam problems.

...and while some local businesses prefer to show both email, phone number and website address, some choose the 100% no-spam way and only show the website address.
